Any Maryland program or activity that receives funding from the U.S. Department of Justice must comply with applicable federal civil rights and nondiscrimination laws.

Policies

The following policies explain how discrimination complaints are addressed for programs and organizations that receive U.S. Department of Justice grant funding through the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy:

• Responding to Discrimination Complaints from Employees of Subrecipient Organizations
• Responding to Discrimination Complaints from Clients, Customers, Program Participants, and Consumers of the Office and Subrecipient Organizations

Reporting Civil Rights Complaints

You may report a civil rights complaint to the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy's Civil Rights Complaint Coordinator by completing the Discrimination Complaint Form - DOCX provided by the Maryland Department of Budget and Management's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office.

Email the completed form to [email protected].

Depending on the nature of the complaint, the Office may forward it to the appropriate agency, including:

• U.S. Department of Justice Office for Civil Rights
• U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
• Maryland Commission on Civil Rights

You may also file a complaint directly with the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Civil Rights.
