Victim Services

Providing services, programs, and policies for crime victims across Maryland by promoting victims' rights, providing statewide resources, and supporting recovery.

The Victim Services Unit is part of the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy. The Unit works to improve services, programs, and policies that support crime victims throughout Maryland.

The Unit promotes victims' rights by helping ensure that crime victims:

  • Are safe in their homes and communities.
  • Have access to services and support.
  • Receive the resources they need to recover and become self-sufficient.
  • Can seek restitution when provided by law.

The Victim Services Unit also serves as a statewide resource for crime victims and the organizations that assist them. The Unit includes the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Sexual Assault Reimbursement Unit, and subject matter experts who work to strengthen victim services and improve policies across Maryland.
