Data Dashboards
The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy uses Microsoft Power BI to translate complex data into interactive data dashboards to enhance policy decisions, promote data transparency, and provide an opportunity for deeper exploration and analysis to the Governor and his administration, as well as other policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and the general public. The Office partners with local, State, and federal organizations, through existing memorandums and legislative requirements, to collect, analyze, and present data in a meaningful way. Data is also compiled for an interactive grant map to display organizations in Maryland that are active subrecipients of grant awards from the Office. Support for several projects described below is provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, through the State Justice Statistics Program.
Crime in Maryland
The Office facilitates statewide crime data analysis and sharing to generate effective policies and solutions.

Law Enforcement
The Office works with partnering law enforcement agencies to facilitate data collection efforts to increase public safety, identify accountability, promote transparency, and ensure compliance with mandated requirements.
Youth Justice
The Office receives data from public health and public safety partners, as well as open source resources, to provide insight on overall well-being of youth and families in Maryland and youth interacting with the criminal justice system.
